Tangent Rural Fire District is Looking to Fill Volunteer Positions
The Tangent Rural Fire Protection District is committed to protecting the lives and property of our citizens and visitors by providing prompt and professional services in the event of a fire, accident, medical emergency, disaster or any other activity which may threaten the public welfare. If you enjoy serving the public and are willing to dedicate the time required to complete a training program, attend regular monthly training sessions and respond to emergencies, this could be your opportunity to make a difference in your community.
The Tangent Rural Fire Protection District operates out of one station located on 32053 Birdfoot Drive providing fire and EMS services to a 45-square mile district that surrounds the community of Tangent. Tangent Fire District responds on average approximately 400 calls a year. As a member of this dedicated team, you will respond to firefighting and rescue operations, operate and maintain fire apparatus and equipment, and participate in fire prevention and public education activities. Volunteer Firefighters are offered various benefits while being an active volunteer.
Requirements to become a volunteer:
- Must live a reasonable distance to the Tangent Rural Fire District.
- Must be at least 18 years old or older at the time of employment and have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must possess, a valid, unrestricted State of Oregon Driver's License
- No felony or disqualifying criminal convictions.
